The arrival of Global Seas’ 170-foot trawler F/V Defender in Seattle in May has clearly raised the bar in the Alaska Pollock fleet. The vessel features an advanced fish pump system to protect the catch, a spacious covered fish-handling/sorting area to increase crew safety, and a large RSW capacity to increase efficiency. The vessel was converted to its new role at Patti Enterprises’ shipyard in Pensacola, Florida between April 2015 and February 2016.

The 121’ F/V TITAN arrived at PATTI Marine Enterprises from North Kingstown, Rhode Island for SEAFREEZE LTD. SEAFREEZE owns and operates freezer trawlers along the U.S. East Coast. SEAFREEZE produces Atlantic mackerel, Boston Squid, Atlantic butterfish and Atlantic herring.

The 97’ F/V STARLIGHT arrived at PATTI ’s November 29th from Vinalhaven, Maine.
The conversion work consisted of widening the vessel by 10ft, installing a new expanded bow with thruster and bulbous, along with a new stainless steel pilot house. This also includes new accommodations, various system upgrades, modifying and relocating deck equipment.

After many months of dredging, hard hat diving, rail fabrication and hundreds of yards of concrete, the completion culminated with the launch of the Mariya Moran on January 29th.
